What’s for supper?

Grilled chicken.

Spinach casserole from special guest correspondent.

Butternut squash.

Fried rice.

Look carefully, and you can see what’s left of the sweet potato fries in the
blue bowl, and the yogurt dipping sauce in front of them. Pictures of the
cole slaw and of something else Shusho brought have been lost.

Pictures of dessert (Jim’s Applesauce Cake with Caramel Frosting,
in honor of Michelle’s birthday) have been lost (were never taken),
but Caden had a better idea for dessert—playing with Paulina and
Cookie Pig.

November 18, 2012. Auction winner edition.

News flash: Panoramic shot thanks to Tom. Clearly I need brain food.

Party potato casserole. Recipe may appear soon.

Salad left the table before I took pictures. Nellie made it.

Dessert didn’t make the pictures, but Tom made the cookies.

And Barbara brought the ice cream.

Homemade deep-fried onion rings, for...

The way they grow carrots in New York,

to dip into hummus.

November 11, 2012

We did not have Sunday night supper this past week, to observe a milestone:

98 years.

Ironically, two other milestones happened last week:

Tom’s grandmother died, at 97.

And Uncle Si’s good friend Moses died.

Good boy, Mosey.

Obvious salad.

Also obvious rice.

Baked chicken. Beware the drumstick. Though I don’t think anyone got sick.

Green goddess dressing. That's a funnel. Just go with it.

Hurricane Sandy-related lasagna from Kinsey and Tom.

Chickpeas, parmesan, olive oil, garlic, and lemon. Standard dish for when vegetarians attend SNS.

Hurricane-related stuffed bread.

Sad kale.

Note hurricane-related beer.

Said vegetarian.

Non vegetarians were also allowed to eat the chickpeas.

I thought I had a picture of the orange pound cake with pistachios and chocolate chips, but it's probably better in this action shot, anyway.

Take me out to the ball game...
